The fruit of good Monte Carlo preparation

With both the 2014 Monte Carlo still months away (the historic edition  is from 22-1 to 29-1), you tend to forget that work on the cars has started long ago already. This is now and it was in the past. Ken Forbes sends this photo of his father Frank Guest who had spent months and months  on prerparing his Ford Consul for the gruesome winter event. But where's the Consul? This an Anglia! Having spent months preparing the Ford Consul for the task, he crashed it on a test run just before the event and promptly pinched his sister’s car, screwed some spotlights and window demisters on it and set off (and made it to the finish!). Yes a pilot's live can be tough, and so is the life of their sister's cars...
