1970s dust on 1950s Austin

Sometimes barn finds involve more mysteries than the simple obscurity or rust. In the case of our main picture, if somebody takes an accurate look can discover that the car -an early 1950s Austin A70 Hereford- is dirtier than the floor or the walls of the old workshop in which we have found it.  This old workshop closed its doors in the mid 1970s, and many classic vehicles of all kinds (tractors, trucks, motorcycles) were parked and forgotten inside. Turning to the dust issue, could it be deposited in this quantity in 40 years of indoors parking? Definitly not; but there is an explanation anyway. The old owner of the workshop told us that this car came in the early 1970s in order to undertake a brakes repair. The brakes were fixed, but as the owner of the car never completed the payment, the Austin remained parked outside the workshop...till it closed its doors. Only in that moment the car was put in storage inside the building. Many years of laying outside created this dust layer, which apparently has protected the sheet... exactly as happened with the other vehicles surrounding the Austin. Next monday, more details about this find.
