A stunning car in brand new condition having been the recipient of a nut & bolt rebuild in the USA. Perfect cars such as this need but few words:
The car is finished in its original colours of Mist Gray Metallic with Red Leather upholstery and a Black convertible soft-top. This Series 62 was well-optioned and cost $3,066.16 new, with Goodrich BW tyres, windscreen washer, wheel discs, license frames, automatic heat control, fog lights, and a vanity mirror. The vehicle retains all of these options, bar the original tyres, and its current paintwork and interior are as per the factory body tag.
This Cadillac underwent a massive restoration, by Cadillac specialists in the USA, bringing it back to factory specifications. The engine and transmission were also removed and rebuilt, with the electric and hydraulic systems tested at the same time. A full 1950 workshop manual comes with the car, plus the 1951 model year supplement.
Details of service work carried out on the above vehicle in 2022 at 31962 Miles with indicated mileage now being 32,108 include:
- Replaced engine oil & filter
- Replaced automatic transmission fluid & sump gasket
- Replaced rear axle oil
- Applied fresh grease to all grease nipples
- Adjusted tracking
- Adiusted brakes
- Lubricated all hinges & latches
- Repaired vacuum operated aerial
- Replaced front seat hydraulic ram & switch
- Replaced hydraulic pump seals
- Flushed hydraulic system and repaired roof & window operation
- Lubricated window mechanisms
- Carried out M.O.T. test
As a result hte car drives flawlessly & feels more like a car from the late 1970's rather then the early 1950's. It is in perfect runniing order & runs at an easy 85 or so MPH. The power rood glides up & down at the touch or a button & has a snap on cover to tidy it when down.
