When Mercedes-Benz introduced the C126 coupe in 1981, it aimed to build the most accomplished personal luxury car in the world. Penned under design chief Bruno Sacco, the SEC paired the W126's engineering integrity with a pillarless silhouette of rare elegance, and the 500 SEC sat atop the range when launched. Its 5.0-liter "M117" V8 delivered the effortless, long-legged performance that suited the autobahn as naturally as the boulevard.

The same decade produced a flamboyant counterpoint. Across West Germany, independent tuners reimagined the S-Class coupe as a canvas for excess, and few pursued that vision more aggressively than ABC-Exclusive. Founded in Bonn in 1983 by Wolfgang Fraedrich, the firm conceived its wide-body C126. As an official Gotti dealer, it could finish the look with coordinated multi-piece wheels, a style that found an especially enthusiastic audience in Japan.

This 500 SEC was ordered new through the Mercedes-Benz branch in Mainz, finished in Blue-Black Metallic (199) over an Black Amaretta interior. It was thoughtfully optioned from new, with a limited-slip differential, self-leveling suspension, cruise control, air conditioning, an electric sliding roof, heated front seats, and factory wiring for a Becker or Tekade telephone on the left rear fender. The car later received the full ABC-Exclusive wide-body conversion that defines it today. Gotti five-spoke wheels, with black centers and polished lips, fill the flared arches, while AMG exhaust tips complete the period-correct aesthetic.

First registered on 6 March 1986, the SEC was registered in the Netherlands on 22 December 2011 before its importation and entry into The Patina Collective in 2025. The odometer reads 209,393 kilometers (approximately 130,100 miles) at the time of cataloging now finished in Black with a Black leather interior. With ABC-Exclusive having closed in 1993, surviving examples are prized amongst enthusiasts. This 500 SEC offers a rare chance to acquire one of the 1980s tuner era's boldest statements.
