'Plastic' Town Car saved from the scrappers.

It never was a real car. It was a concept meant for an even more demanding audience than that which was served by the top of the range 1956 Eldorado Brougham. This concept Town Car was made of fiberglass, with - in twenties style - an open chauffeur's section. The passenger compartment is giving an almost K.O. contrast with the in comparison austere outside. Sumptuous beige leather with acres of gold trim including a gold-plated telephone. It never came beyond the concept stage, and by the end of 1959 it was destined to be scrapped, the fate of nearly any concept car. Fortunately it was saved and restored. The original concept Town Car had no engine, but now a period Cadillac V-8  has been installed. Yet before you bid, keep in mind  this is still a concept car.  Drivable, yes, street legal, no. Love it or hate it. But if you're looking for a really far out concours entry this may be the toy you have been looking for. Read full history about lot #115 at RM's Arizona Auction on January 19-20.
