No matter their PVC body, even Trabis have a 'chassis' which is sensitive to weather influences... Or is it the east-block 'duroplast' which corrodes badly? Anyway: this one - spotted and photographed by Heiko Günther - collapsed and broke in two halves. The ill famed two-stroke Trabant was of course the only (!) real Volkswagen of East Germany and became an instant cult car in 1989 when the wall came down. Trabis slow? Check this! And check this!! And regarding the two-stroke smell; seen in the light of day of Volkswagen's diesel turmoil... maybe not that bad.
