A day to keep your top up (Upd.: Renault Dauphine Labourdette)

Normally the Classic Car meeting held in the old Dutch town of Vianen has beautiful weather. However, this year it rained cats and dogs but nevertheless many people visited. Among them Karel Vermeer who photographed this 1957 Renault Dauphine with a soft top (closed because of the rain). Neither Karel nor we have ever seen a cabriolet version of the Dauphine. Was this a factory option? We found several others while googling including a reference to Chapron with this model. Have there been any other coachbuilders doing similar. Who can tell us more about this attractive-looking open-topped sedan?
