One thing seems certain: you folks do not visit the Antwerp Classic Car show as none of you even tried to guess about last week’s car puzzle, which was only a mere Google search away. So there we go: this 1960s sports car was the Vixen GT, built by Ian Stronach with the idea to drive it on roads during the week and race it in the weekends. He started out with the front end of a Cooper Jaguar, bought directly from John Cooper in 1962 or ‘63, and built a complete car around that. All of the body was formed from aluminium, fitted to a homemade spaceframe chassis with Triumph-sourced suspension and mated to a blown 1600 Kent-engine and VW-gearbox. But once finished Stronach didn't enjoy his creation for long. He sold the car later in the 1960s and went on to Formula 2 and 5000 in the 1970s. The GT was found in a sorry state in France in 2011 by its current Belgian owner. He started a daring restoration that same year and brought the car over on a yearly base to the Antwerp Classic show, only to show the fully finished product this year, a month ago now. The Vixen GT is now fully resplendid and equipped with a 4-litre Rover V8 engine.
