After Ace comes Bristol, then Cobra

It's as simple as ABC... a sports car should be suitable as a daily driver; go fast to a rally or race meeting and even take part and drive home again. And as part of the package looking pretty too! Which it should as the AC's body design was based on Ferrari's 166 Barchetta. Originally AC's were equipped with their own engine that dated back to 1919, but the real improvement came when a 6-cylinder Bristol engine was fitted. It gave the AC much more handling power, making it quite successful in sports car racing. The one shown here comes with a pedigree of rallying successes and will be offered by Bonhams this Friday at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Should we go and see it? Or do we wait for the even more powerful V8 Cobra to come along?
