Don’t you think this duo perfectly fits in with the December and coming seasonal celebrations theme? And their Christmas colour schemes are not the only thing they share. Things do not get more Italian for the top one, while the bottom one could be described as the quintessential British vehicle. If there’s an ultimate in Land Rovers it has to be a Series 1 in 80inches wheelbase and that gorgeous Bronze Green paint configuration. The car that Coys has on offer in their upcoming True Greats sale is a stunning example of just that. An early 1952 car with the two-litre petrol engine, it appears to have been restored to a very high standard. All the 86 original galvanised parts are said to have been removed, shot blasted and re-galvanised while all of the other steel and aluminium bits were given treatments, equally thorough. That should certainly justify the 30- 35,000 GBP estimate.
Over to the other end of extraordinary Christmas presents. Did you have an exceptional 2016 and care for something more flashy, faster and louder to present yourself to? Then this Italian stallion may well be the ultimate. Like the Land Rover it’s also open topped, right hand driven and an very fine example of the breed. Coys: “Chassis 14269 is one of the better looking Daytonas we have had the pleasure of selling.” It is a conversion, though, but one that was carried out at an early stage for a respected Ferrari specialist and with just three owners from new. The estimated sales price is at least 16.6 times higher then that of the Landie. Now, if it were our Christmas stocking…
