Corgi Toys came on the market in 1956 and in an attempt to beat Dinky Toys at their own game they equipped their die-cast models with tranparent plastic windows, a novelty at that time. Corgi were quite succesful and many models followed. One such model was the Ford Lotus Cortina. Corgi modelled their toys after actual cars and for this one they used an 1966 example with the registration number KUU 333D. This number can also be found on the model. The big one will be auctioned by Barons on September 7th and of course it comes with the small one included!
