Caption it: transporting a Lotus

There have been many Lotus transporters, or so it seems. We remember the Ford Thames, supposedly with Coventry Climax mill under its stumpy nose (replica here). But also this Vanguard streamliner (not so streamlined replica seen here) that supposedly existed in the 1950s also. And then there’s been a string of buses in all their shapes and vintages, some of which can be seen here.

But this VW Transporter was a new one to us. And the fact that the Formula Lotus car (driver: Peter Arundell) bonded to its back didn’t totally fit, did not deter the team to use it. As a matter of fact they found a perfectly useable solution to keep the thing dry – okay, apart from the nose cone.

We ask you one simple question: caption it!
