Think Barcelona and sunny images of scantily clad girls sauntering between beaches and Ramblas may spring to mind. Well, perhaps not to everyone’s, but you get the idea. So when you are an auto builder into the Catalan area it’s nothing more than logical to use this image as a marketing tool. And, yes, that is exactly what Seat has been doing for decades now. Okay, at some point the bikinis were changed to cheeky velvet pant suits and soft leatherette knee-high boots - as this girl with Seat 850 Spider proudly shows - but the idea remained the same. It’s another good reason to catch car, train or plain to Catalunya somewhere between 5 and 9 December this year, as AutoRetro will take place than, not too far from the beaches. It’s the 29th edition of Spain’s mayor classic car event and will cover over 30.000 square metres of motoring entertainment. Perhaps you’ll even meet some sweet girls, too, with Seat as a featured marque. Several rare models and works rally cars will be on display. And hopefully some will make it to auction, too.
