Comes rain and shine at the Mitiche

Bassano del Grappa (VI) - not even the snow met on the Stelvio Pass stopped Le Mitiche. A record breaking edition, ending at the Castello Superiore in Marostica surrounded by the enthusiasm of the participants with a farewell in 2016. It was edition number 21 for “Le Mitiche Sport a Bassano”, historic motoring event that saw the participation of over 90 barchetta motor cars - all sports competition cars built not later than 1959 - representing 28 makes and 12 countries all over the world. Again a great result for the Circolo Veneto Automoto d'Epoca “Giannino Marzotto”, organizer of the even that also this year saw Eberhard Watches as main sponsor.

The ride of the Mitiche started on the 19th of June from Ca' Cornaro in Romano d'Ezzelino. First leg with the Manghen Pass, Cavalese, the Lavazè Pass and arrival in the very central Piazza Walther in Bolzano. On June 20 the great leg, with the Mendola Pass, the Palade one, Merano, the mythical Stelvio Pass (first time ever for the event), the highest pass which can be driven on in Italy and the second one in Europe at 2.758 meters, Bormio, the Gavia Pass, Ponte di Legno and the Tonale Pass, to reach  Trento. Grand finale on the 21st of June: the cars from Trento climbed the Vezzena Pass, to parade through Asiago and then to go down first to Bassano, to be welcome by the city in a very crowded Piazza Libertà, and then to the Castello Superiore in Marostica for the great farewell feast and the prize-giving of competitive section of the Mitiche, the regularity contest in which the entrants took part.

The President of the Circolo Veneto Automoto d'Epoca ‘Giannino Marzotto’ Stefano Chiminelli on behalf of the organization thanked all the sponsors, the Automotoclub Storico Italiano, the transportation and support services, the Veteran Car Team Bolzano - Bozen and the Scuderia Trentina (which gave their support for the arrivals in Bolzano and Trento), the Bassano Rally Racing and the National Police for the motorbike support service.
