Dare to be different!

On May 21st Bonhams will have its annual all Aston Martin and Lagonda auction at Newport Pagnell, the Aston Martin Works Service. In our view an Aston Martin stands high above the crowd, but some even get higher. Take for example this 1965 DB5 Vantage Shooting Brake. It's one of only twelve DB5 sports saloons converted into shooting brakes by coachbuilder Harold Radford. Eight were right-hand drive and four left-hand drive, and all 12 survive. This one is different though, because after the conversion by Radford, it was returned to the factory for the fitting of a DB6 Vantage engine, making it more lively than thought possible. Yet, as of 1974, it led a very sheltered life, having covered only 58,000 miles due to the Aston being almost continuously garaged and never used in the rain. As a result, an Aston Martin like this doesn’t come cheap, but she really is different! Have a look at lot nr. 345 and then perhaps do what the previous owner did... take a mortgage on your house ;-)
