Dress code required for traversing Paris

On July 29, the French car club 'Vincennes en Anciennes' will be organizing the fifth 'Traversée de Paris'. It's a giant cavalcade of some 500 vehicles (automobiles, motorcycles, commercial vehicles, tractors, buses) through the streets of the French capital. The parade will pass many of Paris' tourist highlights, starting at the Château de Vincennes and then cruising via Place Daumesnil, Place de la Bastille, rue de Rivoli, Montmartre, and the Champs-Elysées, to arrive around midday at the Observatory's Terraces of the city of Meudon for a giant picnic. All the crews are invited to dress in white, in a way that matches the age of their vehicles. Those following the string of cars on the free buses are also invited to follow the dress code. We expect it to be a very smart looking parade!
