There’s no doubt that we have a soft spot for Lancia’s, here at PostWarClassic. Still, it’s not easy to pin one model as a favourite. During the InterClassics Show in Maastricht, there will be an ode to ‘La Grandezza della Lancia’. In other words: they will come up with a display showing lots of Lancia’s.
One of the cars that can be seen at InterClassics Maastricht is at the PostWarClassic.com stand: the well-known and stunning Jaguar XK140. The car was in a private collection for more than 20 years and the owner has now decided to part with it. When they asked us to present it at our stand, we were very enthusiastic as it is a wonderful example.
Rétromobile is always in for a surprise, and the 2019 edition will be no different. The themes (100 years of Citroen, 60 years of the Mini, 45 years of the PRV engine) may seem rather tame but we are confident the organizers will be able to surprise. And it’s not just the exhibition.

Seeing the houses and hotels buried under thick blankets of snow, made us think of a funny little game we played on these pages before. It’s called: name that place. We’ve used historical photographs of Friday Ladies using their classics in snowy conditions, mostly in vintage skiing resorts.
The basis of this car is a Intermeccanica Italia that has been modified for the Italian market and named it the Italia IMX. This prototype was built for the 1969 Turin Automobile Show and it never went into production. The car was destroyed in an Alpine train derailment on the way to its owner in Germany.
