Flaminia yes, yet a three letter word is missing..

You may know by now that we are always interested to find good unrestored cars. This one was found by good friend Bart Kleyn in Italy about one year ago. Not too long ago the Lancia  Flaminia by Pininfarina was one of the 'lesser gods'. Collectors were primarily looking for the Touring bodied cars. And the Zagatos of course. And in a way - most certainly in terms of money - this is still the case. But the few very good remaining Pininfarina Berlinas and Coupes that still look great due to good preservation and maintenance and not thanks to a massive 'rotiserie' restoration is beginning to be appreciated rapidly. They present an atmosphere of authenticity that is impossible to create by even the most skilfull restorer. After many years of scarce use Bart had the car fully recommisioned by a specialist and it looks, sounds and even smells most pleasant. A sympathetic dullish metallic paint and single spot of missing paint in the middle of the roof only adds to the credibility of the car. A perfect driver and comfortable touring machine. Yes-yes-yes... touring with an undercast 't'.... And now that we are doing nitty gritty about letters we should add that the trunk lid in fact is missing three letters, as owner Bart Kleyn is founder of  a wellknown rally organiser  (click).
