This is a mystery motor, but not as you are used to on here. That is, because we do not know much about it ourselves. And so, this is not an official puzzle. We are just curious if somebody else will recognize it and be able to tell more about it. What we do know: this most unusual vehicle is supposedly Javelin powered and built by a mister N.J. Fryer. The photograph is believed to date back to 1958, but we would not be surprised to learn if it was slightly older, too. But what was the idea about this odd creature? Was it meant for research? Speed records? Streamlining exercises perhaps? Feel free to let us know.
Update: Robbie Marenzi knows the answer! He writes: "This the Scientific, designed by Ray Brock in the early 1950s, owned/raced by a Mr M.T. Fryer. It had a Jowett Jupiter engine, Cooper suspension and a fully enclosed undertray. More pictures in the link in his reply below. Thanks very much Robbie.
