Kerry Malseed reports: "I found this 1947 Flexible Clipper while surfing the internet for a grade 5 alto saxophone book for one of our twin boys (don't ask!!). The bus was destined for the crusher but I couldn't let that happen and before I knew it, I was the new owner. The Clipper was in the California mountain desert for over 30 years so has taken quite a lot of work to get it moving again. Fortunately the climate had been very kind to the body with almost no rust at all. As I live 5,200 miles away from the bus in Cheshire (UK) and I didn't know anyone in the USA at all, the project has been somewhat of a challenge, especially as I haven't even seen the bus in the flesh yet. The internet is a trully powerful tool if used correctly and without it, I would never have been able to manage such a large project from so far away. Also, it doesn't help that this is actually my first ever restoration project!! "
Editor: You are a brave man Kerry...! We are highly curious to learn from you when the bus has arrived at your home and after you have had your first short drive or .... long weekend out. We didn't read about complaints of your boys about the lack of an alto saxophone book yet.
