Interclassics celebrates Interclassics

The Planai Classic may well be the first classic car rally of 2018; Interclassics could be the first show. It takes place from 11th to 14th of January this year in Maastricht, The Netherlands with this edition being the 25th in a row. Since 2003 the show saw a number of themes and feature displays and for the 25th anniversary year the organizers have decided to use ‘25 Years of Interclassics’ as this years’ theme.

What this looks like? Well, take 18 of the cars from the 18 themed displays from earlier years and there you go. These themes were Ferrari (2017, 2008 and 2002 oh yes), BMW (2016), Grand Prix cars (2015), Maserati (2014), Aston Martin (2013), Porsche (2012), Mercedes-Benz (2011), Alfa-Romeo (2010), ‘America’s Finest’ (2009), ‘Cars on Film (2007), Jaguar (2015 and 2004), ‘Disegno Italiano’ (2003), Facel Vega (2017), ‘British Royals’ (2016), ‘Pre War Legends’ (2014), Ford Mustang (2014), Bugatti GP Cars (2013) and Mille Miglia (2012).

Announced have been a Porsche 550 Spyder racer plus the Le Mans Jaguar D-Type and Goldfingers’ famous Aston DB5 ‘gadget car’ from the Louwman museum for this year's themed exhibition. Although we appreciate the fact that they focus on the top of the classic car scene, we’d love to see some more outlandish and less safe themes in future editions. Organizers: we have an idea or two!
