Just skidding ! (not)

Winter is not yet over, and we are still quite happy with our mud and snow tyres here as things can still freeze up overnight. They have proved to be of use in the last couple of weeks. Better be safe than sorry, and so if things do go wrong it's always best to know what you should be doing. Enter Britain's first anti-skid school in Wolvey, Leicestershire, that was filmed back in 1960, when a Triumph TR3 was an ordinary daily driver, even in winter. As the voice over says: "A car can and should always be in full control by its driver." Dutch Skid master Rob Slotemaker - who passed away at the age of 50 in a car crash himself - explains things for the camera. It's a lovely piece of footage and there's some good advice that may even be well of of use when you drive your classic car today.
