1967 Aston Martin DB6 Vantage Volante since 21 years owned by Andrew Male. When new it was used by Leonard Bernstein when he was working in London. Andrew Male from the US owns the car since 21 years. This is his story:
"While on a trip to London my wife and I happened to pass by a showroom window in the Kensington Mews. What caught my eye was an incredible looking piece of art deco "rolling art" which, upon inquiry by me, turned out to be a 1948 Delahaye roadster. I ended up buying this car with the agreement with the auction house that since it was the "cover car" for their upcoming auction that I would leave the car to be auctioned at whatever reserve I wanted.
As it would happen, in the auction catalog that portrayed the Delahaye was also an absolutely stunning Aston Martin DB6 drophead. The fact that it's first owner was Leonard Bernstein, world famous composer and conductor, made the prospect of owning this car a fantastic opportunity. Bernstein was conducting the London Philharmonic at the time and the car was bought for him an
d his use. So, I took a chance and after confirming its history and condition I bid on over the telephone without actually seeing the car "in the flesh" and won this car at the same auction that my Delahaye, thankfully didn't meet its high reserve.
Since that time, some 21 years ago, I have continuously used the DB6 to participate in a number of road rallies like the Copperstate 1000 and Colorado Grand and placed it, successfully, in many local concours d' elegances."
