Lister back on the track?

So many times we hear of great sports going back into production. In most cases the news dries out after two or three press releases and that's the last you hear about it. We truly hope this is not the case here. The fabulous Lister Jaguar (here shown MVE303 at Silverstone '58  with Stirling Moss in) will be recreated in a series 'out of box' race ready examples.  It seems the original working drawings and re-commissioned manufacturing rigs are not only good hands. They also received considerable financial back up by Warrantywise, one of the larger aftermarket warranty providers in the UK. The new company: Lister Motor Company Ltd. has only recently opened a spotless production facility where it should be: in Cambridge. The new Lister Jaguars will be be built exactly conform the old and succesfull specifications. D Type spec engines and gearboxes supplied by Crosthwaite & Gardener, race preparation by CKL Development and the moist characteristic 'Knobbly' body will be made making use of the original Shapecraft body bucks. A number of Lister sponsoder race meetings is planned for 2015, so we are looking forward to how this baby will come out. We'll keep you 'Listed'.   ( B&W photo courtesy LAT Archive)
