"Il Divano" from Autospeak tells the story of his Zagato-bodied 1956 Maserati A6G54 2000 with chassis no. 2137 and engine no. 2137: “In 1957 this car took part in the Mille Miglia, the Targa Florio and the Intereuropa. My Grandfather bought the Maserati after it retired from racing. Later the car went to Florence, then to Rome and finally she came back to Florence in 1966, the same year of the great flood. The 2137 was caught in the flood while in the body shop where she was undergoing a full restoration. Unfortunately she suffered severe body damage. The 2137 then went to Modena Maserati Museum that was later sold to Panini. In 2005 I bought the car and immediately I began a nut to bolt restoration that ended this year. It can be said that this Maserati, with a distinguished racing past, has had very few owners and she has not been driven since 1966. It was therefore an intense emotion for me to be able to start the car after 44 years and see her moving under her own power.”
