Let's start a new trend, show off in the Mille Miglia in a cheap car

The 2013 edition of the world famous Mille Miglia historic race was held May 16-19. Beautiful landscapes, amazing roads with racing history, famous people, and fast & fabulous cars. A scenery of seeing and being seen. The entry list year after year is full of amazing Alfa-Romeos, Aston Martins, Ferraris, BMWs, Bugattis, Mercedes, Osca, Cisitalias and a large numbers of 'Etceterinis', vehicles that most of us can only dream of to have in your garage. The pictures of this impressive motor event again and again show the same awe-causing toys. It's like a fast rolling concours d' elegance. How different are the period photos from the days of Tazio Nuvolari and Stirling Moss.  Aside the great cars of the works teams there were lots of popular everyday cars. Fiats, Fords, Borgward, Opel, DKW, Renault, Panhard and Citroen. Have you given a thought to that? Of course it is possible to obtain a place in the entry list with something different. More in the style of that era (Citroen 15) or below (DKW 3=6). Maybe some of the well to do competors should decide that it may be more chic to show up with an everyday car in this worldfamous event. And yes the M-M organisation could be of great influence in this. By keeping the entry list open for budget entries. Forgetting the money side for a moment and thinking just a bit more about the historic essence of the MM.
