A 'Highway in the Sky' Mystery ?

Tom Perry sends the attached clippings from an early post-war film (1952), No Highway in the Sky starring Jimmy Stewart, Marlene Dietrich, Jack Hawkins and Glynnis Johns.

Tom adds: 
The car in question is driven by Jack Hawkins, and its identification has haunted me for years. I haven't a clue as to marque or vintage. Can you help? I'm sorry the image is so poor but I lifted it from the video. The suicide doors should help narrow the search, I hope.

Editor: well Tom, glad you ask. We know that many people will recognise the car instantly. Further more, there is a website dedicated to movie related car questions. Check the Internet Movie Cars Database. But we are here to ask questions like yours and it is great to learn that a nearly forgotten fine is 'starring' in a classic Hollywood drama. We will send you in the right direction to learn more about it. It is a Riley RM built between 1945 and 1957. And here is the RRMC club website. We're just curious to learn if they know about this movie appearance of the car and possibly if anything is known about the car since then. Will be continued?
