Posh Volante also good for Dune Buggying

Justified or not - we all know Aston’s DB6 has never been able to stand out of it’s older brother DB5’s shadow. And probably never will. Aston Martin would never have believed it when they shot this press photograph of the DB6 Volante. It oozes glamour in everything. That lady, that look, the dog, the parasol! No, this is clearly not the car for a secret agent - these are the glamourous wheels for posh people before they were ever named so. Newport Pagnell produced no more than 178 of them.

But hang on, that biodynamic farming prince has one, too, in attractive Seychelles Blue and now converted to run on bio-ethanol made from wine wastage. You know he borrowed it to his son when he married a while ago. But did you know he’s actually owned it since new in 1969? And the best thing is that he was never afraid to use it, too, or so it seems. Charles, in his early twenties, regularly took it to Cornwall to go riding the waves, parking the DB6 casually on a dune. That’s the spirit!
