A postcard holiday: Rome

You made it. Hamburg-Rome, you crossed seven countries  in four days and here is your reward: the Via Appia. Not hard to guess cars. A typical 1960 landscape with two Fiat 600, most probably still with suicide doors. Arguably more interesting is the road itself which we understand was constructed in 4th century before Christ. Leading from Rome to Brindisi. One thing is bothering us, we're quite sure the stretch depicted is near Ostia Antiqua, the old harbour of Rome, yet according to the maps the Via Appia didn't come that far. Anybody can help?
