Postwar X-mas Puzzle day 3

The armored man seen here is a Spanish conquistador who went to America in search for gold and even a passage to China. He died in 1542 on the banks of the Mississippi River. In 1929 an automobile was named after him. Prewar it was pretty successful, but postwar sales declined. Even the 1956 high-performance ‘Adventurer’ didn’t help and the make folded in 1960.

Write down the make, but please DO NOT send us your answer before the last puzzle has been published. Of course you can contact us on all other topics, because our office is always staffed! From the participants with all answers correct, six names will be drawn at random. All six winners will receive the famous PostWarClassic T-shirt. Good luck and if you like quizzes, try your hand at the PreWarCar Christmas Quiz. Enjoy this holiday season!
