Sevilla´s fair in Vanguard style

last week was the celebration of the traditional Sevilla Fair which is known as "April Fair", although this year it opened its doors in May. These festive days are one of the most popular spanish traditions, with lots of people wearing the traditional dresses and dancing on "Flamenco" music. Nowadays the motor cars aren´t allowed in the enclosure and the people use antique horse carts to go here and there. However, in the past it was common to show their brand new cars during this festive event. The wealthy people used to attend in their automobiles and dressed in their andalusian costumes, as we can see in the main photo. This picture was probably taken in the center of Sevilla, just before getting in the car on the way to the fair. The car in front of the camera is a Standard Vanguard Phase I of the early 50´s and in the left corner of the photo we can see part of the bumper of an unidentified car, which due to the size and form of the guard could be a 1946 Chrysler... good cars to transport these ladies!
