This image gives you an impression of applying the finishing touches on an early-1950’s production line at Ford Dagenham. The car is a Ford Prefect that was commonly nicknamed as ‘sit-up-and-beg’. Why that was so, beats us. Was it because of the driver sitting position behind the steering wheel with his hands mimicking a dog sitting up and begging for a cookie? We don’t know. Can you enlighten us?
