Good news for Peter Mullin.

Wouldn't it be great to find an original photo of your own classic on the cover of a new important book? Superb reference material ! Happy camper Peter Mullin is one of those lucky guys. Four years of research by Peter Larsen and Ben Erikson were invested into the new state of the art publication about the Talbot Lago Grand Sport. On the cover we see the 1948 Talbot Lago T26 Saoutchik Coupe, more specific this is car # 101 ( a total of six cars that were bodied by Saoutchik in this style and presented at the Paris Salon). Over the last decades the car has been in various hands ,  and the current looks - we understand - are the result of an older restoration (check grill, headlight ornaments, bumper, wheels and the not very period colour scheme). We understand that Mr. Mullin will gladly use the original photo as a guide for future restoration work on the car. At least the grill will probably restored to original specs prior to Pebbles. Now of course we are eagerly looking forward to the moment the car will be presented in its original livery of pastel (PostWarClassic!) green over dark brown (including wheels). In todays conservative view perhaps somewhat daring; but very much to the taste of Saoutchik and the year 1948. Check that crowd!
( the book will be presented at Pebble Beach 18-19 August and later will be available through Dalton Watson Fine Books.
