Summer festivities

There are rock festivals and film festivals. Beer festivals and Olympic festivals. And, yes, there are classic car festivals, too. The best known may be held at Goodwood, as these seem to have become a blueprint for many others now, judging from the blocked starting posts and hay bales scattered around everywhere. So it’s nice to see a change with two brand new festivals announced this Summer. They promise fully loaded programmes with performances by bands such as The Proclaimers and Texas, big auctions throughout the weekend and an act with dancing diggers… What do you think? Is this the ideal combination of cars and entertainment? Or do you prefer things slightly simpler and smaller in set up? And does a classic car festival necessarily need to include screaming engines and a track?
