We bet that one time in your life you started building scale model cars. We did, buying kits from Monogram, Revell and Airfix. Any scale from 1/48 to 1/8 and anything in between. We haven't doen it for years, but when we saw this Airfix kit, we really started getting the urge to build something again. Although we think that this one would be a bit too much to take on, as it's not 1/48 scale, not 1/24, and not even 1/8. Nope, this one is 1/1, a life size model of the Aston Martin DBR1 that won the 1959 Le Mans 24-Hour Endurance Race! Measuring 6.35m wide by 3.3m tall it is in fact a work-of-art that will be auctioned at the Bonhams Goodwood Revival Sale, which takes place this year a day later than usual on Saturday 15 September. We love it! And it even has a display trophy!
