Thank you Mr. Zonda

Suppose you are doing a recce for a rally in Italy. Checking the nicest routes and roads. Of course driving too fast because you are short of time all the time. You drive some of the most amazing roads on the Gran Sasso, the sun is bright like only in Italy, the mountain snow is fresh and crisp and the air is limpid. Above the treeline, flat and flat out. For the looks it could both be Scotland or Tibet. And then, in the distance, you see an obstacle on the road, three cars blocking the road ahead. It is 2004 and a film crew has chosen the amazing setting for their film shoot of the Pagani Zonda.

Mr. Zonda invites me for a ride. Suddenly I have all the time of the world. The acceleration feels like falling in a black hole. The braking is bringing you back to the real world. The impression long lasting.

This year, the Via Flaminia Pre War will be following the tracks of the Zonda. With accelating and braking impressions equally breathtaking. But for other reasons.
