A reng-deng-deng sweetheart with a firm rear.

The three widest spread qualities of the German car? Without doubt solid in the first place. Put Teutonic on number 2 and finish it off with dull. But sweet? Oh yes, there are some loveable German cars around. And the DKW Monza could just be the best example. Produced in small but sketchy numbers (ranging from 53 to 230) by no less then three manufacturers, it has always been a bit of an outcast. It had the typical reng-deng-deng from a two-stroke three-cylinder and even used colour-coded bumpers! But the Monza was lightweight, too, with its modern fibreglass body and it was raced in both Europe (hence its name) and the US, and even set speed records and made it to Le Mans. Despite that chequered nature and its ferm rear, reminding perhaps of Merc's mighty 300 SL, the spritely Monza was advertised with women in mind (more here and here). Another reason to adore it!
