The Grand Prix of Gibraltar

Famous actor Peter Ustinov was a fan of motor racing and proved it by making a satirical record titled “The Grand Prix of Gibraltar”. Not just an ordinary racing comment, but Ustinov made all the sounds himself, from the clipped voice of raceleader Altbauer (i.e. Alfred Neubauer, Mercedes team leader) to the magnificent noise of the 12-cilinder Ferrari. The 1958 record is now a collector’s item, but fortunately it has been re-released on CD a few years ago and that one is still readily available. But first listen to what we are talking about. If you’re a racing fan, you’ll certainly enjoy it.
