The Isle of Man is nick-named ‘road racing capital of the world’ and for a reason. Back in 1904 the first Gordon Bennett Races were held on a 72-mile road circuit and ever since the island has attracted racing fans, of both motorbikes and cars. The Manx Motor Racing Club currently organises the Manx Classic, an annual three-day event: one sprint, two hillclimbs, three days of great Manx motorsport on closed public roads. The event is open to pre-1941 vintage, pre-1968 classic and pre-81 classic and rally cars plus post-81 cars. Competitors must hold a minimum of a National B Speed licence. The Manx Classic will be held on Thursday 28, Friday 29 & Saturday 30 April 2011.
