Dreamcars are still out there! 1946 Delahaye 135M Saoutchik

When you know where to look and when you have the patience, you still can find amazing cars. Like this Delahaye 135M by Saoutchik, said to be the 1946 Paris showcar (chassis 800315/ engine 800315). According to the family Pueche they were waiting 15 years for the opportunity to buy this car. Only two days before the Essen show they finally had the green light to pick up the car at the former owner. In the show there was no way to makes photos of the car in a way that does justice to streched lines of this Saoutchik creation. Just to show the shape with more emphasis we used a photographic filter. You can click the photo to see the car how it looks in reality. Created for no other purpose than to impress the elegant crowds at one of the concourses of that time. Or when cruising the boulevards oft he Cote d'Azur. Currently the car is in a slightly tatty condition and it would benefit greatly from a full 'make-over' bringing it back to its former glory. We understand the car once was in silver metallic with maroon leather interior. Without doubt we will see more of this car at one of the great concourses within a year or two.
