What happened to this Bug and this Vette?

Classic advert expert Hans Horwitz sends this intriguing Chevy print advertisement, showing a '61 Vette and a  '26/'27  t35/37(?)  Bugatti with a slick adman's text (been one myself...) about thorougbred sportscars and the fact that the Corvette is easy to handle, at least a lot easier than the vintage Bugatti.

Is it sacrilege to compare a Chevy with a Bugatti. Before jumping in the trenches  first of all you have to keep in mind that  Louis Chevrolet ( born 1879) and Ettore Bugatti (1881)  both were into racing at young age. So the fact that therir careers took other directions in later life does not take a way the fact that both brandnames have racing in their genes. And Chevy still is - be it not with their showroom models -  into racing, like last weekend in the Detroit GP.

Of course todays brand image of Chevrolet and Bugatti couldn't be further apart. No doubt about that. For the numbers in which both cars have been produced counts the same.  And we wouldn't be surprised that a short query within BOC circles will bring up the chassi number and history of the blue car within hours. If the same can said about the attractive roadster in the foreground? We'll let's give it a try! Let us know!
