Monday mystery - but not anymore

Reader Job van Huizen continues his travels in the north of France. His first mystery, unearthed there, was shared on these pages last week (still unsolved! - click here). This one is perhaps slightly less obscure. Job wrote: "I saw this car in the North of France, but it had no logos or whatever. It looks like a 1950s special and could very well be French. Who can help? Thanks in advance!"

We can as we know this car in person! It's a Devin bodied OSCA MT4 (chassis number 1176) which is sometimes referred to as the Morelli Coupe or the Devin Monza. The car was sold to Jim Simpson of Chicago, USA in 1956 but coupe. But only after a couple of months the coupe was crashed and the original body destroyed. A bloody shame, as no other Morelli coupes are known to survive (not Moretti - there are several Moretti bodied OSCAs as there are some Morelli bodied OSCA roadsters, too). And so it was replaced with this Devin body, made in the US of A. The current owner is restoring the car and is looking for any original photos of the coupe body or any pictures of the car wearing its Devin body in period, so perhaps any readers here may be able to help?
