Covered headlights: Who was first? (Upd. 1922 Ley T6 !)

Last week we spotted this nice combi. The headlight 'rhyme' made us wonder which car was first with headlights behind glass or perspex. Certainly not the Citroën DS as most probably they borrowed the idea from the 1963 Panhard CT (Citroen took over Panhard in 1965 and introduced covered headlights in 67/68). The Series I XKE was most certainly more early, but not first as they now marketed the styling idea of their own 1951 C-type. But was that car really first?
The 1949 Healey Silverstone. The pre-war Talbot Lago Teardrop Coupe and the pre-war Peugeot 402 had covered headlights, but with thin louvres, not glass/perspex.

Now you tell us. Which car was earlier than the 1951 C-Type?  It may be a production car, a racing car, a concept car or prototype.
