To some, last weekend may have seemed the most ridiculous time to visit Paris since a long time. However, it was just what your faithful editor did. No, I did not wear a yellow vest, but saw quite a few doing so. I did have an excellent time though, thank you.
But crikey, this was a rather different Paris than the one I'd taken in my hearts since such a long time. With very different Parisians than I’d seen ever before. Or weren’t they Parisians? Who knows? What went wrong?
Anyway: this is not a newspaper and not quite a medium to express political opinions either. But, dear reader, it did seem a good reason to me to have a good look at the photograph seen here. This one was taken in Paris in the late 1950s and shows the city in a much more blissful state, undoubtedly taken on one of those grand boulevards where there is always something to see and do. In this case it's an elegant Friday Lady in the latest fashion, with an equally fashionable sports car behind her. Oh, and a Peugeot. This is France after all. Or was, at least...
