You’re in hot water, baby

Oops. Things became a bit too hot here. Even in the Austrian mountains, where this photograph was taken in the summer of 1959 – yep that’s 55 years back in time. The Giulietta could well be brand new at the time. Maybe it wasn’t even properly run in? To remove hubcaps, paint racing numbers on doors and bonnet and just push it through these bales may have been a bit too much then.

Poor girl. She looks not to be too happy about it, clearly thinking ‘Blast! What did I just do?’ But how about her period racing wear? Driving gloves and helmet, but apart from that she could have gone to the tennis court / golf court / hors paddock too. Who needs racing overalls on a hot day?
