The Daimler SP250, affectionately known as the 'Dart', remains one of Britain's most distinctive post-war sportscars. Introduced in 1959, it combined lightweight glassfibre construction with Daimler's wonderfully smooth 2.5 litre Hemi V8 engine, producing performance that could rival many of its contemporaries. The desirable 'C-Specification' cars benefited from numerous improvements over earlier examples, including additional chassis strengthening, resulting in sharper handling and a more refined driving experience.

Finished in attractive Moss Green with a complementary Mist Green leather interior, this handsome SP250 is further enhanced by a new white hood and painted wire wheels, giving it a quintessentially British sporting appearance. Having had just three owners from new, the previous custodian retained the car from 1989 until 2023, when it was purchased by our vendor. The Daimler has since benefited from approximately £15,000 of restorative work, though unfortunately no invoices are present, including a respray, mechanical recommissioning and engine refresh, together with partial interior retrimming, a new hood, new wire wheels and additional brightwork. The result is an attractive, well-presented example that is ready to be enjoyed. Whilst not a concours restoration, it is an honest and highly usable classic that can be driven and appreciated as intended.

With its charismatic V8 soundtrack, distinctive styling and rarity, the SP250 has developed a loyal following amongst enthusiasts seeking something rather different from the more familiar British sportscars of the period. This C-Specification example represents an excellent opportunity to acquire a charming, usable and characterful classic with long-term ownership history and significant recent expenditure already completed.
