Introduced in 1946, the RMB was an evolution of the earlier RMA saloon, featuring the renowned 2.5 litre ‘Big Four’ engine with twin SU carburettors. Producing around 100bhp and capable of nearly 95mph, it offered impressive performance for its time. The longer wheelbase provided improved cabin space and comfort, enhancing its touring capability. The RMB remained in production until 1952, when it was succeeded by the RMF.

This is a very pleasing example of the Riley RMB and was originally registered in December 1948 and presents in elegant black complemented by a tan leather interior. It retains a largely original and unspoilt feel throughout, showcasing the dignified styling and understated luxury synonymous with post-war Riley craftsmanship. The vehicle shows only one former keeper recorded on the V5 registration document, a notably low ownership history for a car of this era. It also spent a period overseas before returning to the UK, adding an interesting chapter to its provenance. While not extensively documented, the accompanying paperwork includes a Riley workshop manual and a selection of MoT test certificates, indicating past attention and conscientious upkeep.
