The Chevrolet Fleetmaster was produced in the United States for the 1946, 1947 and 1948 model years. The Fleetmaster series included the Fleetline sub-series which was offered only in two-door and four-door ‘fastback’ body styles.
First registered in the UK in November 2014 and subsequently purchased by the second UK owner, Mr. Gittins, before Historics offered this very car in 2020. This automatic example was clearly well restored between 2010 and 2014 by Mr. Gittins and is presented in cream coachwork with a contrasting cream and purple leather trim. During the restoration the trim was refitted, together with a very good mohair hood, and now displays excellent panel gaps and brightwork. Within the history file are details of the restoration including the bare metal respray and all ancillaries however, the engine appears untouched. Further paperwork includes receipts for the parts purchased, one of which indicates a reconditioned odometer hence the mileage since restoration being circa 27 miles. These are rare examples in the UK, especially a convertible model in this condition. Ideal for American meets and sure to turn heads wherever you go, this is a stunning example of 1940’s Americana.
