1973 Ferrari Dino 246 GT New Zealand New , One Owner ,
Offering for sale this remarkable 1973 Ferrari Dino 246 GT, supplied new in Christchurch in July 1973 and remaining in the hands of its original owner from new. Opportunities to acquire a New Zealand new, one owner Dino with such outstanding provenance are exceptionally rare.
This Dino has been regularly driven, well maintained, and thoroughly enjoyed throughout its ownership, 157,000 miles from new.
This Dino has never been restored , retaining the authenticity and character.
At approximately 70,000 miles, the original engine was replaced with a brand new old stock Ferrari factory engine. Original engine was then put in dry storage .
The original engine underwent a comprehensive professional rebuild 2009-2011 before being reinstalled in the car around 2011/12 at around 145000 miles .
The rebuilt original engine has done approx 12,000 miles . Designed by Pininfarina and built by Ferrari during one of the marque's golden eras, the Dino 246 GT is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful sports cars ever created. Powered by its 2.4-litre transverse-mounted V6, derived from Ferrari's Formula 2 racing programme, the Dino continues to set the benchmark for classic sports cars having earned it a place among the greatest driver's cars ever produced.
