In 2013, Onroak Automotive, the amalgamation of Pescarolo Sport’s manufacturing division and the OAK racing team, formed an agreement with Philippe Ligier to develop new cars under the famed Ligier racing brand.

This partnership has produced a number of highly successful racecars, particularly in the various Le Mans prototype categories raced around the world. One such model, the JS P320, has served as a workhorse within the second generation of the LMP3 category since 2020. The vehicle is composed of a carbon monocoque chassis with pushrod-actuated double wishbone suspension on all four corners and aerodynamically efficient bodywork optimized to tackle the Circuit de la Sarthe. Per regulation, power is provided by a Nissan VK56 V-8 engine with an output of 455 horsepower.

The example on offer, chassis 227, was completed in 2020. Described as a generation 1.5 vehicle, it retains the wheel and switch panel of the first generation, while the aerodynamic package is that of the second generation. Notably, the vehicle was sent to Katech Engineering in Michigan to undergo an engine swap. The 12th JS P320 to enter their shop for this type of work, the vehicle is now powered by a 6.2-liter LT2 GM small-block V-8 which produces a healthy 630 horsepower. Additionally, the engine is mated via a custom bell housing to an upgraded XTrac gearbox capable of handling the increased torque. A Motech ECU serves as the vehicle’s brain. While the engine is a running unit with zero miles, Katech stated a new air compressor will need to be installed for the transmission to become fully operational.
